Best Aviation Schools In New York – Welcome to the CUNY Climate Institute on Campus. The School of Aviation is the interface between the School of Business and Information Systems and the aviation industry.

As a college, we are committed to partnering with the public and private sectors on research projects and helping our students find internships and permanent jobs in the aviation industry. Long Island, New York: The two most popular airports are Long Island MacArthur (KISP) and Farmingdale Republic (KFRG). There are other airports such as:

Charlotte/gastonia Flight Training

This is one of the busiest airports in the region! Many people from Brooklyn and Queens, and of course Long Island, use Republic as their primary flight training airport. It is not unusual to wait 30-45 minutes to disembark when the airport is busy. Farmingdale Republic Airport is just over an hour from Penn Station on the LIRR’s Ronkonkoma Line.

The airport operates under the Charlie class and has a fully operational control tower. There is commercial traffic, but not as busy as the nearby airport, and by all reports taxiing and waiting time for take-off is minimal. The drive from New York City to MacArthur Airport takes about 2 hours.

Located approximately 1:30 minutes north of New York City, you can reach White Plains Airport from Penn Station and Grand Central Station. The combination of general aviation, business aviation and limited airline service has a challenging operation.

Other airports include: Solberg-Hunterdon (N51), Somerset (KSMQ), Flying W (N14), Central Jersey Regional (47N), Princeton (39N).

Not as busy as Farmingdale Republic Airport. Some flight school options. Essex County Airport is approximately a 45-1:30 minute drive from New York City. NJ Transit operates a bus route (#46) from the Port Authority. Make sure you use the app or buy a ticket before you get on the bus.

About 1 to 2 hours from New York City. Public transportation is available via NJ Transit from Penn Station on the Morris and Essex line to Morristown Station. The city of Morristown has one of the largest public airports in the region.

It is the only non-towered airport near New York City, but it has restaurants in the airport. NJ Transit serves Penn Station and the Port Authority. Lincoln Park Airport is primarily used as a helicopter training area.

The interesting thing about Lynden Airport is its location. However, its location south of Newark can provide a very difficult environment for new pilots. There are only two flight schools at Linden Airport. In helicopter operations.

Go southwest on NY-27 W toward New York. Take exit 51 on NY-454 W to County 97 / Nicolls Rd / Stony Brook / Blue Point. Turn right onto Johnson Street. Head east to Montauk. Exit at Sunrise Expressway Service Road. Turn left onto County Rd 112/Johnson Ave. On Johnson Avenue, stay in the left lane and follow the signs for “Rental Car Return, General Aviation”. Follow Johnson Ave until you reach Sheltair Aviation in building 90. The Sheltair car park is directly opposite the main entrance of building 90. This is the only free car park exclusively for ATP customers.

The ATP is just a few hundred meters from the hotel. Leave the main terminal, turn right and go to the Sheltair Building.

AirTrain to JFK/Jamaica Station. Buy a MetroCard (for AirTrain) and a Long Island Railroad ticket to Ronkonkoma. ($13-17 one-way fare) Taxis are available at Ronkonkoma Station for transportation to Sheltair. (About 5 minutes, $8 fare. If taxis are not in line, call Village Taxi at 631-588-1055.)
