2010 has a different start to the Vanderkitten Racing season than years past, and for good reason. With a slowly recovering economy and cancellation or non-confirmation of key races on the NRC, it is a season where many will find themselves hurrying up to wait. The fact of road racing is that it’s a LONG season, longer than any other professional sport in the United States, so we are setting a good pace for ourselves to make it through the season in fine style with to results.
One of the major aspects of Vanderkitten that makes us so popular and relative to women across the world is that we are the “working class heros” of the peleton. Our riders, like many, have full-time jobs and careers, and taking weeks on end off to do awesome events like the Women’s Prestige Series is just not feasible, so we are once again focusing on Crits. Crit racing gives the fans maximum exposure in it’s urban center, multi-lap format, and really brings our sponsors brands to the people. Bang for the buck, crits are hard to beat… win on sunday, work on monday… it’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.
